About Vidyotan

"Vidyotan" is the annual Science and Technology based National level activity of Sipna College of Engineering and Technology, Amravati. The sole purpose of organizing this Techfest event is to give the students a platform to compete from all around to showcase their talent and skills in various integrated techno events. These events promote a real technical trade for the budding engineers to come up with their bright ideas.

This year the Vidyotan theme is Chandrayaan-3

About Vidyotan Inaugural function Chief Guest

"Dr. Shamrao is presently working as Head of Advanced Mechanisms Section in Spacecraft Mechanisms Group of U R Rao Satellite Centre Bengaluru.

He did his BE in Mechanical Engineering from NIT-K Surathkal in the year 2000. He worked as Project Manager for ISRO’s first Rover-Pragyan mechanisms of Chandrayaan-3 mission which successfully explored the surface of Moon near south pole. He completed his MTech in Machine Design and PhD in the area of Planetary Rovers from IIT Madras.

He is conferred with ISRO’s The Young Scientist Merit Award for the year 2010. He was part of the team which has been granted a patent for “A Method for Manufacture of Highland Lunar Soil Simulant” in the year 2014. His areas of research are spacecraft mechanisms, planetary rovers, space robotics and electromechanical system"
